ALU structural facade

A wide range of profiles enables the selection of the most acceptable sections required by the statics and dynamics of the project. With this type of facade, it is characteristic that the glass of the putty is joined with the structural putty, and the aluminum parts of the facade are visible in the view. The thermal conductivity of the network structure of the facade is about 2,4 W/m2K, and due to the cracking of the joints, the isotherm of the entire assembly is disturbed.

Construction
Self-supporting, fully glazed, structural, thermally insulated facade construction made of aluminum profiles (Structural Glazing).

Profile geometry
Visible profile width 50mm.
Vertical, load-bearing profiles are 50 to 200 mm deep.
Vertical supporting profiles for angles from 10 to 45 degrees are 85 to 200 mm deep.
Horizontal profiles have a depth of 6 to 180 mm.
Horizontal profiles have a depth of 84 to 149 mm.

The structural impression is achieved with structural IZO glass, with inner glass 6 or 8 mm, intermediate profile 20 mm and outer 6 or 8 mm. The outer glass must be hardened and ground around the perimeter.

The outer and inner glass is glued to a special intermediate profile (distancer), 20 mm wide. Gluing is done in an authorized glass company by DOWCORNING (silicone DC 993) or Wacker Cemie (SG 500). The IZO glass formed in this way is attached directly to the aluminum supporting substructure by means of an attachment bracket in one plane and a variable geometry bracket for the segmented part of the facade. In this way, the visible width of the structure from the inside of 50mm is achieved both on the segmented and on the flat part of the facade. The aluminum caps are not visible from the outside. A vertical and horizontal joint of 20 mm is formed in two ways.

Constructions with visible cover caps from the outside are possible, either vertical or horizontal, which achieves a kind of "semi-structural" look.
